The Esperanto Bible
I have always used Bible translations when learning other languages. Familiarity with the material obviously facilitates the learning process; and, of course, reading the Bible is intrinsically beneficial!
We are fortunate that the translation of the Old Testament was done by Zamenhof himself. His excellent knowledge of Hebrew and his Jewish background resulted in a fascinating translation; in fact, his Old Testament translation is a masterpiece of Esperanto literature. It is astounding that Zamenhof's biblical translation work was only one facet of his incredible translation achievement.
The New Testament was translated by British scholars. It imay not be a literary masterpiece, but competent and reliable with some felicitous turns of phrase.
So if you wish to find out more about Esperanto or improve your knowledge of the language, why not have a look at the Esperanto Bible on the Internet?
